NEW DELHI: The Congress candidate Meira Kumar has been elected as speaker of the 15th Lok Sabha on Wednesday (June 3). She made history as the country's first woman Speaker. On Tuesday (June 2), 13 nominations were submitted by the leader of the house Pranab Mukherjee to the Lok Sabha secretary general P D T Achary.
